#update 16/4/2009 (Rene)
We’ve had 2 cancellations on the last few days before the tour. The shows in Ostrava and Prague will not take place on 23.04 and 24.04. Please keep an eye on this schedule or www.myspace.com/murdermanifest because our booker is still working on these dates. Another show in Prague is still an option.

We’ve got a bunch of new merchandise like hoodies, T-shirts, girlies etc. so don’t forget your wallet :)

The tour got a good start. First we played in Essen last friday. Not really crowded but the show was good also talking about the organisation. The bands Harasai and Phoenix Cry did a good solid show. Looking forward to play with them some more. The afterparty was the blast.. We set up a mobile disco in the basement and had a some karaoke at Iron Maiden till the early hours.

On saturday the 18th our friends in Thronar woke us up early. Jarno and Kevin are also in this cool battle metal band. Both we had to play the famous Viking/pagan metalfest in Winterthur (Switzerland). With 2 cars and a van we headed to the south. A trip of 7 hours.  At the borders of Switzerland we had to unpack the van to count all merch and had to pay 10% of all merch to get it back when we cross the borders again. This took us so long that we we’re almost to late for the festival. Right after we arrived at Gaswerk we had to climb the stage did a sound check of 5 minutes and burned the stage with a short set of 7 songs. Even the crowd was folk metal orientated we got the attention and had some headbanging guys on front from song one. Song by song the venue got crowded and received a unexpected good response. In total there were about 300-400 people inside. Thronar went on stage right after our show so Jarno and Kevin had a marathon that day. Most impressing was Black Messiah who set this place on fire. Classic folk band Haggard was impressing too with about 10 people on stage. Violins, a cello, guitars, grunt and opera vocals, drums and percussions. Comparing with the death metal of MM this was the other side of the metal genre. Great to see the differences at one line-up.  The afterparty was great also. Nice to see our producer Nico van Montfort back again (he is the soundguy of Thronar). At the metalmarket we bought a special “Eddy - Iron Maiden” figure for Powerslave and drunk too much beers and whiskey’s with the dutch guys..

After a few hours of sleep we went for a short drive to Italy to play the Woodstock venue in Grandate near the Como lake. After receiving the keys for the hotel we drived around the area and had some fun at the boulevard in Como. The usual crowded terraces near the lake we’re nearly empy so we had some special treatment there. Back in the venue we had our sound check and meet the guys in Dyve a old school metal band (worth checking out). It was a common sunday show but the atmosphere was relaxed and refreshing after the hectic show in Switzerland. We meet some cool people and had again a party till the early hours.

Back in our hotel we’ve been welcomed by a 45 years old Romanian MID(on’t)LF  and her husband who offerred the guys in the band 20 euros to join the magic room :)

#update 27/4/2009 (Anne)

Monday we had a day off, so we spent it in Milan. Eating pizza’s, doing some sightseeing, that stuff.  The next day we drove through the Alpes back to Germany. Catching a bit of snow along the way to stay evil, grimm and frostbitten.

The next target was Crailsheim, rockkneipe “Eiche”. The owner of that club and experienced tour manager was very in charge of the way stuff was going in that place. We had a good diner (pasta, again……….. the guys of Murder Manifest got a little itchy of not having decent meat to eat in days, hehehehe, but this German pasta was good!). The show that night was great.

It wasn’t really crowded on this ‘monday-hang-over night’ but surprisingly all the visitors catched the cd, headbanged during and screamed for ‘Zugabe’ after the show. Afterwards the owner arranged an afterparty with a bucket of his favorite cocktail: Long Island Ice tea. But not a zip before the owner ordered that the stage was prepared for being the sleeping room for Murder Manifest for that night. Spending the night at the stage in combination with Long Island Ice tea results in sleeping with flashes of a lightshow and clouds from the smoke machine. Not very surprising we didn’t catch much sleep that night. The next day, while packing the van, police showed up at the venue. Searching for a guy who should be in the place we slept that night. Together with the ‘very in charge’ owner it felt like we became part of a Rob Zombie movie. So, off to Nürnberg!

In Nürnberg we played the K4. An excellent old, huge building. Filled with all kinds of cultural events (yeah, Murder Manifest is very cultural *lol*) and a real ‘biergarten’ in the courtyard. A great combination.

The soundcheck went good, we had time enough for some laid back hours. The food was tasteful and nutritious (unfortunately for some of the guys still no ‘real meat’, hihihihi) and enough for 4 touring bands. Yeah the people of the club were very friendly.

That night we played with Deathronation (old school banging) and Soul Demise. Soul Demise presented their newest cd ‘Acts of Hate’. A fine piece of mentally sick deathmetal! It was pretty crowded, and very warm. But the public was energetic and went insane!

After packing the van, we crashed at Sebastians (the organizer of the show) place.

The Friday was also a day off. We spent it at Nürnberg. Sebastian showed us a castle and other nice old pieces of human constructions. The guys tried to get some ‘real meat’ by ordering a ‘Carl Heinz’ at a restaurant.

Unfortunately they got something really gay, hahahaha. Mogelijk ondersteunt de browser de weergave van deze afbeelding niet.

At the end of the day, we got a guided tour from Stiff the singer of Deathronation around the area where Hitler held party days from 1933 to 1938. It was impressive walking at the area which was designed to show off how great, something as sick as, Hitlers idea’s were. A German day out is pretty exhausting, so we were glad when we sat down in a ‘real German’Biertstube. Here the guys finally got some ‘real meat’, a big pig leg with a lot of meat and fat and a bit of Sauerkraut!

After spending the second night at Sebastians place we drove for the last gig of the show to Gorlitz. A German city on the border with Poland. In Gorlitz we were supposed to stay at the club, called Basta.

But since that sleeping place was very noisy and too damp, and we wanted to prepare for the long ride home the next day, we got ourselves a hotelroom. Rockstar-attitude for the win! At the Gorlitz show we supported Arkangel. The presales for that show went good the organizer told us. So that night the Basta was packed with German (and Polish?) hardcore/metalfans. Their enthusiasm was fucking raw and refreshing, absolute madness! A perfect last show for this tour.

Sunday we drove back to Groningen again. It took us about six hours to get back home. Murder Manifest was tired, but totally satisfied. Spreading the metal rules!
